Restricted Performance - Intermittent

Hi all, this weeks problem is an Intermittent Restricted Performance AMBER warning on the dash.

Doesnt happen all the time and ONLY when appears on Startup - normal driving doesnt trigger it.
My handheld OBD2 scanner says No Codes, and allows me to turn off the warning.
When illuminated the car drives perfectly regardless of how hard I push it

Any thoughts ? going to try some MAF cleaner spray tonight but as usual the Internet would suggest everything from a dirty sensor to gearbox issues, fuel filter housings, split hoses, impending doom and the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.

Anyone had this with these exact symptoms and found a cure - trying to get a consensus of what to try first before I send the car in to the garage.

Ive asked a local Indie and he has recommended as a trial switching on ignition and waiting a few seconds before cranking - could be my battery. Just another possible cause of 10,000 to add to the list.

SO looks like its my battery thats the cause. I havent been using my heated or seat\ front or rear heated windows and no issues. I think I had been kicking hell out of the battery and doing short trips or stopping for example for fuel 5 mins after first morning start with everything switched on.
Will replace with a new battery in the next week or so before winter hits.

Damn these cars are sensitive things.

Turns out it wasn't my battery after all. Had the fuel filter housing and sensor replaced and problem cured.
A more substantial code reader returned a code pointing to water in the fuel.
