This won't work. It sounds as though the compressor is FUBAR. Just another reason why I won't deal with refurb compressors ![]() |

Yep, thats what I think too Andy. I'm 99% sure there are no leaks in the system as I've already raised it (when I started having the original problem, removed the fuse and left for 2 weeks. It didn't drop at all. Whilst the compressor has stopped functioning it's dropped slowly (not all the way to bump stops yet). I guess this is down to self levelling. Plus removing the air lines to replace the compressor loses a little pressure, perhaps negligable, but you do ge tthe hisss of air as the pipe is disconnnected. The original problem started months ago, and was the day after the car had a good wash. I've found parking sensors have given up after a good soaking before, so have a gut feel that it's corroded wiring somewhere. If I can't find the fault easily it will be in to the garage when my mechanic is back. I completely agree with your comment though about diagnostic machines. They don't always pinpoint the problem, and the experience here is sometimes much more valuable. |
