Turning Engine Warnings Off?

Is it possible to turn engine warning lights off using the IID tool or something else?

My RRE (my husband has the RRS) is quite poorly sick but no engine lights have come on!? It has been back to garage I bought it from and thy didn’t want to repair or even admit the car had faults so could they have turned the warnings off? It might be a silly question but just curious as to why car is so sick and no warning lights or limp mode?!

You could hide some faults by turning the module off in the CCF, eg. Tv or RSE but you would still know as they wouldn’t work. However you can’t exactly turn the engine off in the CCF. I would expect there to be a lot of DTCs stored if you can get them read.

If you haven’t had the car long I’d reject it if they won’t admit to a fault. Or if they say that it’s normal, tell them you will take to a main dealer for an independent report and if/when they confirm a fault, they garage will need to cover the cost of repair. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thanks Brit Plumber Thumbs Up .

I’ve had a long battle since April. I had to return car same day picked up as red warning triangle came on and limp mode. They sorted and said it was a dpf sensor. Car has had a turbo whistle and it’s been back 3 times! I’m told it is normal nothing wrong all 3 times. Took to an indy for second opinion and was told just turn your music up! Lol!

Now the car is doing the turbo ‘chuffering’ noise so take it to a local indy who confirms codes read are turbo and EGR valve as the engine has all the symptoms of EGR value but still I have no engine warning lights! Surely at least the amber triangle should be showing? I do wonder if it has been modified with the IID to ‘hide’ any warnings by the previous garage? It wasn’t landrover I purchased from so no comeback there!

I don’t know much about consumer protection but you’re near to 6 months of ownership and it’s not been easy sailing for you. Anyone know what rights Flinders has to reject (or at least threaten to, so they will take action) this vehicle. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Update on the ‘chuffering’ noise and no warning lights or limp mode.

I’ve had the turbo and EGR valve replaced under warranty! Thankfully! Car running great now!
