England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Autobiography Zermatt Silver

Sorry for the late response and thank you for all your comments and assistance, i have finally found time to get back to the jeep.

I have taken off both lower intercooler pipes and covered myself and driveway with oil. And guess both turbos are fooked !

Is it possible to raise the suspension without it running as its extremely tight on space as the air bags are on the floor.

Before I go and buy a second hand engine I think it's only right to try and get it to run without the turbos which I understand it should.

Can anyone link me to a video or advise how to do a leak off test on the Injectors and the correct way to do a compression test.

Just to clarify my pal said it was measuring well over 3 bar at the rail whilst cranking.

Thanks in advance

Very possibly. Copart picked up one from a customer of mine. LH turbo seized, sucked oil into the engine and hydraulic locked the engine while running, suspect there is a bent rod or 2...

There would also have been absolutely no fuel in it, a poorly battery, a faulty BT module, and a head unit stuck in phone mode, if it was the same car

If it does turn out you néed an engine, I have one here for sale Thumbs Up

Why do you bother when not knowing basics? unlikely to be fixable from your laptop Mr. Green

BTW: this is a RRS forum - jeep might have their own

Thanks for that I think🤔

I know how to compression test just never worked on a range rover before hence asking for some basic guidance on how easy it is to access and basic pointers.

Same with leak off, I've never accessed the injectors before so was wondering were would be best to start accessing them ect.

I'm no specialist but pointed in the right direction with the right information is within my capacity

It wasn't meant in a bad way, but now you've mentioned another word than jeep.

Here's WM kindly offered by someone I stole link from: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bmioajx5v76k7/RR

😱 no, no, no, not all are jeeps....

This is a Jeep, 77 years old and on its second engine......and not due to a snapped crank or seized turbos or warped head. It was a crack in the water jacket.

The quickest way to check relative compression is find someone with a picoscope you can borrow or ideally get them to come out to the car.
Charge the battery, then Pico has a relative compression function on picodiagnostics.
Disconnect all injector plugs, then crank the engine & it should show what each cylinder compression is like.
It's only relative to each other & you can't tell which cylinders are which (without further tests) but is a very quick test to tell if the engine is worth spending any more time on.

regards
Steve

Today I went to perform a spill test on injectors 1-4 and the leak of pipes spurred out diesel just by turning the ignition on.

Decided that there must be a faulty inject on bank 2 so removed all injectors, injector 5 was bone dry and 8 was more carboned and wetter than the others.

Injectors getting tested monday, my pal said he's confident that compression is fine due to the way it sounded when it tried to run and is going to bring his computer to do a compression test electronically when the injectors are put back in.

N/s turbo has definitely failed, on a plus side I found the service pack book today and it has full service history so fingers crossed it's just injectors and turbos that need replacing.

Wheres the cheapest place to get turbos and what labour charge should I be looking at to fit ?
