United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

Hi Tyrefitter,
looking to replace my 275/40R20 106Y. Lots of good positive reviews on the Nexens. Based in Spain so not much rain. I know you are in the trade. would you recommend them or suggest something else. I was also looking at the Bridgestone Turanza T005 or the Goodyear Eagle F1. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks
Damon

Hi Damon,it all depends on what you want to spend, top end tyres aren't always the best, their is good midrange tyres out there & I wouldn't hesitate in putting Nexens on mine if they did them in my size.Ive seen one of my suppliers have started going these275/40R22 MARSHAL HP91 108Y XL & im tempted to try a set next as they are made along side Kuhmo but are slightly cheaper.Hankook's are also worth considering as they get good reviews as well. Andy.

Hi Andy,
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I might try the Nexens Fera RU1 as they are only 120 Euros including delivery. I was going to go for the Goodyear Eagle F1 at 175 Euros, but the reviews have been so good on the Nexens and the price difference is quiet significate. Based on the reviews I think the wear rates are about the same?
Think I'm going to give them a try.
Thanks again
Damon

Thanks for the additional info chaps, especially Eskimo! Silly question- if I order a set of tyres online will most local tyre fitters fit them for me? If so, any idea's what ballpark figure it would cost me to fit 5 Nexen's?

Dave,I would get a price fitted first from a tyre supplier as it sometimes works out cheaper than buying off line then paying someone to fit them, also if their is a problem with a tyre your can go back to the supplier who will remove the tyre & send it to their supplier to find out what’s wrong with the tyre.were as if you supply the tyre & their is a problem with it the fitter will just say sorry but we only fitted them. This is the reason I only fit tyres that I supply. Andy.
