Ipod advice please.

OK so I have taken the plunge, dragged myself into the 21st century and bought an Ipod.
My question is has anyone got a Bose Sound dock?
I heard one very briefly in a customers house and I was impressed, but it was only a short listen.
So are they worth it?

My mate uses a Bose sound-dock on board his enourmous yacht - it's loud enough for that Wink

Yep, I've got one and its great. As has been said, particularly good for a kitchen, or med. size room.

Get one ! I got mine in the states - nearly half price !

Hi Tonser, did you get it while in the States or get it shipped?
Also did you get hit for VAT etc?
Would like to be able to get one less than the £250 fixed price over here.

Cheers
Cliff

Hi Cliff

I bought it in the states from the Apple Store NY. It was great to use on holiday, and I just chucked it in the suitcase to bring it back.

Yes - a mate has one. Sounds excellent. In fact, it's replaced his "music centre" as I think we used to call them...

Purchasing it from the US via the internet, you're still going to have to pay the VAT but I bet it'll still be cheaper than paying the £250 UK price.

Bose have a factory outlet at Bicester Village, Oxon.

Usually they sell all their products there cheaper than the shops/internet and with full warranty. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Just been on an Ipod forum sight and they are recommending an Altec IM7 set up over the Bose so will have to do some more digging.

Cliff,

Personally I am not a fan of Bose. There products are good quality and seem to be very popular, however after going to many Hi-fi shows over the past 10 years and seeing the same old 'technology' on display from them, plus being patronised again and again by the 'cube speakers hidden behind huge speaker grills - WOW, not!!! I just cant be doing with them.
