Mine came with warranty from Marshall Land Rover in Peterborough, which I have renewed every year since. £349 for the year, or £34.90 a month over 10 months. Just about to renew for the fourth year, and price has never changed

Regarding warranty direct, their ‘core’ policy looks to cover the big heavy hitting things that could and seemingly do go wrong.

Thank you for that, most helpful; it would seem the Warranty Direct product is better than the LR Warranty then??

Have a look at Motor Easy, reasonably priced and cover things others don't. My 2010 3.0TDV6 with 72k costs £800 and I pay nothing towards parts, £50 excess. |

Thank you for that, just having a look now - interesting that they cover suspension components as standard in their warranty as oppose to WD who offer that as a cost option.

Lovely lady just called and went through all the specifics of the warranty, I have to say it sounds really comprehensive and quite specific that it covers wear and tear AND consequential damage so if something fails which isn't covered but it sfailure then damages something that is, they will still cover that item.

I think I have plan B. One good point from my perspective, I bought my motor in july this year with a 6 month garage supplied warranty a pretty poor warranty to be honest so I looked at Motor Easy. They allowed me to set up their warranty to run alongside the supplied one BUT, in the event of me not needing the M E warranty within the 1st 6 months of ownership and whilst I had the suppliers one, they would start the 12 month cover from month 7, however if I needed it because the supplied one wouldn't cover something then I could. I also was given a no contribution clause added so I only pay the £50 excess. |

The free health check is done at a Halfords Auto Centre, had mine done straight away but you can choose somewhere else if you wish |

To be honest it seems a really good product, I had never heard of them before but lady was really nice not pushy or anything on the phone.

Can't remember but I probably went for the one that keeps my costs down. There website has a "dashboard" where you input your mot/insurance/service details for the car and it keeps a log and sends you reminders. I too was impressed by there none pushy attitude and instead of bad mouthing other companies they just sold themselves to me.

I chose Warranty Direct as their cover was good and better price than most others. Motor Easy was also competitive but is a new company that appears not to be part of any group and its latest balance sheet (lodged at Companies House) is very small for an insurance type company. Whereas W.D. is a wholly owned subsidiary of PariBas Bank and is significantly better underwritten as such. That i.m.o. makes W.D. much more able to stand claims for expesive items like RRS engines. |

Just a quick one on the health check, was it a visual inspection around the car or a lot more in depth? The lady gave the impression it was more visual check of levels, signs of leaks, damage etc. Si |
