My 2007 RRS

So the fun begins....Finally took possession of the car two weeks ago, but as Ive been away on business trips, I left the wife to 'introduce herself to the car and log any issues'....

So far, its going to need front bottom arms,+ replacement bolts, CV boots, OSR brake pipe, rear track control arms.
Sticking handbrake issue, 4 x 4 tracking and alignment, central locking sluggish and intermittent.
All the usual issues Rolling Eyes
But what a car! Mr. Green
Im holding off posting pics until its sorted.

A great weekend to all.

Andy

Par for the course a lot of the jobs,, the perils of RR ownership. One job I would address straight away is the handbrake if you are having issues, if it decides to go south it could cost you in excess of a grand if you are unlucky whereas if you spend less than a £100 now and have the rear shoes cleaned and set correctly you could avoid a hefty bill. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.
Its going in today for the repairs, so I will make sure they address this first.
Looking forward to driving it all fixed up.

So all the work has been completed
- lower front arms, bushes, gators, sump, Oil change + coolant and they said upper rear O/S arm was OK, except the Handbrake issue, which my son ( a mechanic), sorted out this weekend, by completely stripping down both the rear and front brakes, inspecting, re-setting up the rear EPB shoes and a total clean up and re-grease, showing me that pads, disc, and shoe linings were really good.
It seems the previous owner had just let the RRS sit for the last six months..
The handbrake functions perfectly well now, and is really quick to hold and release, no more bongs and handbrake warnings.
I still have a slight wobble on braking, (much less), and there are now 4 x new Uniroyal Rain sport tyres fitted, balanced and weighted, so going to look at new discs too, although then existing ones looked good, but COULD be slightly warped.

Next up is an MOT a month in advance this week, then a full alignment and my son said he will go further and take a good look at the front hubs, as he didn't take the discs off on the first inspection on the front, so maybe a change to new front hubs and discs upcoming.
Ive just had the apparently common 'Bonnet open' message, so cleaned the catches and hooks today which were totally gummed up and will order a new sensor/switch this week.
The message has gone, but when my wife started her car next to the RRS, the alarm went off, so I am assuming to start with this is the bonnet issue.

(Sigh), its been a hard and expensive intro to RRS ownership, but I love the car, feels such a great place to sit and drive from, each repair makes it feel like it is slowly coming back....

I meant to add,
Ref the sluggish central locking, it all works, except if I lock it with just one click of the remote, it locks. (except the drivers door), but then I if I lock it second time, it locks all and secure.
Does this seem familiar to anybody else and i so, how to fix?
(I'm guessing a new Latch system).

This forum is great!

Andy - seriously no need for the switch...

Double locking?

Yes, click the remote once, 3 flashes then click once more, another 3 flashes and then the drivers door is locked.

No, 1 unlock just unlocks the drivers door.

Maybe read the handbook - could it be this?
Single-point entry
This is a personal security feature, which enables only the driver’s door to be unlocked,
leaving the other doors in a locked state.
Single-point entry can be disabled on individual remote control keys by pressing and holding the lock and unlock buttons together for three seconds.
Repeating the procedure will re-enable the feature.
Each time single-point entry is turned on or off, the vehicle will lock then unlock into the selected mode (all doors unlocked or just the driver’s door unlocked)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I should have stated that I have already referred to the owners manual when I first experienced this issue.
Doesn't make any difference to the problem.

Thanks again
Andy
