Thinking of having my 2.7 remapped, has anyone had it done and found the RRS better?

Great thanks Steve, i see the quantum dealer is someone called Matthew at a garage in Westbury. Did he run it on a rolling road? or was it just a generic RRS 2.7 map that he put on?

Yeah I saw there was a local guy but I used the mobile guy (John Martin 01225 866666) who came recommended and had mapped previous diesels prior to the RRS. Paul and Dan at the now defunct whitehorsemotorcompany in Corsley recommended him and it was convenient for us. I don’t know if the Westbury dealer puts it on the RR as part of the process. I went for the blue map by the way.

I have a Bell Auto Services (BAS) remap and it is great - noticeably better towing and over taking. I have mine set up for more torque over outright power which is better suited to these type of engines.

Cool cheers, had at a look at the one in Westbury, they do have a RR which I'd prefer but will make further enquiries to see if they do the RRS on the RR or just put a generic map on. Cheers 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys Xtrons Android head unit |

Quite a few on here recommend Bell Auto or Alive. Alive did my 3.0 ages ago and made a big difference to driveability. |

Looked at Bell and Alive and they are way to far away for me so gave John Martin from Quantum a ring and he's on his way to my house right now to do it. Couldn't get hold of the guy in Westbury and he wouldn't do it on a rolling road anyway and would do what this John will be doing. Get a warranty with it so if its no good I wont pay for it, so worth a try. Cheers Steve for the recommendation Looking forward to it 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys Xtrons Android head unit |

BAS Pete Bell, fantastic map and alfer sales service. I had my 2.7 mapped along with the egr delete. Plus withg the BASmap you can remove it when your car goes in for a service and then reinstall it yourself via the diag socket.

So all done, he said when he sent the file to Quantum they came back with mine had already been done by someone else but they could improve on it, he said they wouldn't just say they could improve on it if they couldn't and would tell him if it cant be improved on. I drove it and yes it does feel a little better, was a bit disappointed that there was one already on there as wanted to see a huge improvement. He said not a problem he said he would put it back to the previous map or charge me half price so as there was a little improvement I went for the half price. He also said although it wont be huge, it will get better over the next few weeks as the car learns my driving style again. The EGR's had already been disabled aswell. He said after a few weeks if im not happy and want the old one back on he will gladly put it back on and refund me. We will see how it goes I would still highly recommend this chap, Old school boy Cheers 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys Xtrons Android head unit |

I am in Australia so a lot further away than you and I got mine done over night - you simply download the map that is in your car, email it to Pete Bell and he emails you back the new map and you load it into your car via the OBD2 port - too easy. 07MY RRS TDV6 Arctic Frost Aspen Interior |

Sounds good if you have the 400 GBP worth of equipment to do it
