Car Park Kerb Grounding

I had a silly problem yesterday which could have been expensive.

I parked over a high kerb in a car park and when I drove off later heard the bumper dragging on the kerb. I assumed the suspension had dropped after I parked and no harm done.

However I was made aware this was not the case and found the front centre panel (that conceals the tow point) hanging on by one single stud! Quickly removed and put in the boot I was later able to reinstall the panel at home and it was largely undamaged (a couple of very minor scratches)

What worries me is how easily the panel detached and also something I hadnt thought about before, the lowering of the air suspension when parking over a higher kerb the potential damage as the weight appears to be on the bumper if it grounds out before the suspension has fully lowered? MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)
