Had Road Force Balancing carried out today.... Excellent!

Been suffering with steering wheel shimmy and shake for a while now.

Anyway I found a tyre place which has a Hunter Road Force Balancing Machine.

It is so clever and finds the high spots in your tyres etc and calculates where to move the tyre on the rim etc to cancel high spots out etc. Way more advanced then the normal balancing machines I see used.

After an hour or so, they were done and I have to say that the steering is now the best it's ever been.. No shake, vibration, shimmy etc.

Highly recommend Hunter Road Force Balancing. πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸš™

I see you're local-ish .. where did you go? Finding somewhere that can accurately balance wheels these days is remarkably hard so recommendations are good Thumbs Up

Need to get mine done as I'm pretty sure at least one front isn't balanced right given the *cough* 70mph vibration. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

I used Discount Tyres in Luton. If you go to www.balancemycar.co.uk that will find the closest place to you.

I have no vibration etc at all. Best it's ever felt.

Good to know! Thanks. Apparently my nearest is "Fred The Tread" in Milton Keynes .. what a name, it's almost worth going there for that alone Laughing 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

God! Now there’s a name from the past!

I just Fred The Tread throughout the 1990’s and he always did fantastic deals on tyres and exhausts.

Inspired by this thread I visited thetyreshop.com E4 8SE in London and had the full monty. It was fascinating to talk through the options for resolving my specific (and pedantic) alignment concern. These guys have the kit, Hunter 4 wheel alignment plus the road force balancing, but they also have the knowledge and communication skills. I was very impressed with them and the results on the drive home hit expectations. I’ve yet to do my full 130 mph test. Laughing

The road force balancing results were really interesting. I think it was 2.5 times the price of regular balancing, but you can tell just how much more informed it is, I honestly think it’s a no-brainer if you can find a service provider. This place was 30 minutes drive from me but I shall be using them for all my wheel related work going forward.

Β£215 for the privilege of full 4 wheel alignment and balancing, though, which is a lot of beer tokens. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
