I hope someone can shed some light on this, Iv got a 20113.0 sdv6 sport,
Checked the engine oil level just to see the oil level, showed it’s on minimum so topped the oil up.
Started the engine after topping up, the engine seemed like it wasn’t running how it use to, it started to give out this vibration which could be felt through the steering, thought that was abit strange,
Started to drive it as normal went the over take a slow moving car lost all power and a sign came up on the dash “restricted performance” pulled over switched it off and switched it back on the car drove normal again and the warning light went then after around 3 miles the car started to make a horrible ringing kind of noise with any revs over 1800-2000 rpm.
Stopped the car and had it recovered to a local garage, garage have scanned it ( P1247-00 Turbocharger boost pressure low)
Garage have advised me that the turbo is knackered and needs replacing.

There is slight blue smoke when the engine warms up from the exhaust,
The engine sounds perfect,
Doesn’t make the noise when the engine is cold, revs up perfectly fine.
No engine management light on dashboard.

Car has served us well for the last 3 years without any problems, always serviced on time.

Any help would be much greatly appreciated.

If its an sdv6 it isnt the turbo but potentially 2. I sincerely hope not for your sake as it is a body off job. Mine cost 4k (2012 61 plate) all in to replace both (indy).

I recently had a similar issue albeit on a 2015 SDV6, restricted performance but no engine management light

Turned out to be a pipe that had worked itself free, reconnected and has been faultless since. ------------------------------------------------------------------
