I can only recommend you to purchase some sort of diagnostic device/code reader, makes it keep at first problem - usually.
look around and find the best for you -

That was my first thought Allan. Clearly the 3.0 has gone to the system the jags have always used on the 2.7 which monitor the glowplugs for operation and actually tell you when a glowplug has failed.

This is why I was suggesting doing a resistance check of the glowplugs as a first easy step.

Glow plug warning light

Hi all

Thanks to your posts I am pleased to confirm that resetting the ECU by discharging latent power with the battery disconnected fixed the permanent-on glow plug warning light.

This forum is invaluable and seldom fails to provide solutions.
