Does anyone know if I can remove the deployable side steps from my car or does the dealer need to reprogram the car after removal

As they are supposed to be plug and play type connection (not sure it they can be disabled in the dash menu Too) I would try just unplugging the connections and see what happens before fully removing them 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi,

Pre 19MY you can remove the steps but the wiring, Ecu and switch is a bit of a pig, they also have to be configured in the new vehicle as far as I know.

You’ll need a replacement dash switch (minus the step button) too.

On 19MY it’s even worse as they are controlled via IN Control Duo.
