cracked 22inch wheels

hi I noticed a small crack on one of my alloys they are range rover super 7 style I think , think crack was at the side of one of the spokes, it's a 2007 tdv8 it's been lowered on links but not too low and has 25 mm wheel spacers on front and 30mm on back. then the other day I checked wheel and the crack was right round the spoke and a crack was on the spoke next to it to .I bought the car 2 years ago with the wheels on it and it's only now gone like that .so checked the other wheels and all the wheels are starting to crack . so what do I do buy new 22s and take off spacers or was it because old wheels were powder coated before I got them and made them soft .or do I go for 21s with a 45 tire giving more protection .i

Super Sport 7 style is a old Overfinch style rim so could be that they are Chinese copies not genuine, although any alloy wheel has the potential to crack. I have run genuine 21" 275/45's L/R wheels on my RRS1 for 5 years and never had a issue, 22" rims were never a option on the RRS1 although a lot of people have run them with out problems

Cheers

thanks for the reply the only trouble there is not much to choose from with 21s and dont want to go down to 20 think they look too small just my view.do the new range rover sport 21s fit the 2007 and do the 21s still look as big as the 22s

All RRS2 wheels will fit the RRS1 as they are the same PCD although they have a different offset 53mm on RRS1 and 49mm on the 2. As you say it is all a matter of personal choice, personally I think a RRS1 Sport with lowered suspension and 22" rims with rubber bands for tyres look absolutely ridiculous but as said that is my personal opinion, A 21" running 45 profile tyre diameter (78.09cm) will be very similar to a 22" running 40 profile tyre(77.88cm).

Cheers

I have genuine OF 22” Olympus with no probs. Had to have Two straightened after pot hole damage and the wheel tech said that had they been copies, they would have been scrap. But because they were original, he tried them with ease and no cracking.

If you want 22” I would stick to genuine LR or a reputable brand. Some have had success with copies but as you have lowering links and large spacers, that’s a lot more stress on an inferior wheel. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

hi thanks for replying i found out they were cheap overfinch copy wheels so i have bought new wheels i stuck with 22 i like the look of 22 the best , i got 22 hawke harrier black alloys i took the spacers of the front wheels which were 25 mm and put them on the rear taking off the 30mm spacers on the back so that should help to with stress on wheels , going to get tracking and wheel alignment done to ,ill try and put apic up of them
