2013 3.0sdv6 with 120k

I'm looking to buy a 2013 Autobiography Dynamic with 120k on it but it hasn't been to land rover since 2016 (46k) and no proof of other servicing
Apart from the lack of history, its a lovely car and has no apparent faults.
I'm aware it needs a major service due to the mileage which is circa £1k at a specialist but I just don't know if even at this price (sub £22k) it's worth the risk or not.

It's had 2 owners total and appears to be a good car but I know like most of you will, these cars can be a money pit if not looked after. That's the issue, I have no idea if it really hasnt been serviced since 2016 or if its been looked after else where but they didn't keep the receipts as there's no service book on these.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't touch it with the world's largest and longest barge pole. Given that I bought an Approved Used low mileage RRS AB late last year and it's been nothing short of a pain in the arse since, I'd be frankly terrified with a high mileage partial history car. Not a chance. Ferrari F430 Spider F1

Ah. I suppose I knew already but liked the idea of getting one for that sort of money.

If its only had 2 owners, try contacting the last one. The non servicing probably happened with him. The car probably does have a service history, but maybe he used his local garage or did it himself. I doubt anyone would drive for 74k miles without a service. Another point is 74k miles since 2016 is some going & probably motorway miles where there is less strain on all components, no braking, constant speed & car warmed fully up every day with no stop/start in traffic, unlike a lot of low mileage cars that are driven in town every day for a few minutes at a time when all the wear occurs.
I would not discount it off hand but would try to do some research. You may have found a good one. Get it checked out by a specialist or main dealer asking to list all it needs done. Maybe little or nothing.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly I don't have time to try and get in touch with the previous owner (It has to be paid for today otherwise they send it to auction)

The owner bought it in December 15 and had it serviced at LR in July 16 but then nothing after that.

I'm sure they will hold it back till you do due diligence on it. Whether it goes to the auction this week or next makes no difference if they think they may have a sale. They are trying to push you into a sale saying that. Ask them for the previous owners details, try Facebook (probably the quickest way) Failing that go to the auction, you may get a bargain. Good luck
With the mileage he has done it probably needed serviced twice a year, so chances are it was done at his local garage.

I can't find him.
He has a unique 'foreign' name and only one hit comes back as someone in Turkey or similar.

He's from Isleworth so had a quick look at local garages but nothing stands out.

Try https://www.thephonebook.bt.com, pop in his name & Isleworth & it will show up name address & phone number. With an unusual name there will only be one or two if you don't have his address Smile
Assuming he is with BT

Right, the garage that MOT'd it in Feb 18 at 92k also serviced it but not the year before so so far it's missing a service from 2017 circa 60/70k miles.

I would phone Disco Mikey for his advice, he may say run away or not, but he is an expert 01382 690500 at least it will put your mind at rest. We have all been there, wanting a car but there is a nagging doubt.

Spoke to him (Lovely chap).
He didn't say either way really so it's obviously just down to me.

He did say a car wouldn't survive doing 30k a year without being looked after but without the proof, I could just be walking into a time bomb or find out it's a really good car.
