I bought a complete set of interior LEDs from ebay, which includes the ones for the number plate.

Waste of money. Within a few days many of them started flickering.

Maybe more expensive ones will be better.

I do remember that changing the ones on the number plate was tricky because the wires weren't long enough to pull the fitting out to change one of the bulbs. But you have to do that whether you replace with LEDs or incandescent. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

I did the interior ones with LEDS a few years back when I had the 06....and they lasted about a year...I ended up replacing them all with original bulbs.

I was looking at these, which I hadn't seen before....don't know if you had tried these or just the LED bulb?

I have similar ones fitted , also full L.E.D panels to the doors , luggage space and rear reading lamps
18 months on and no problems

Sounds like you may have been unlucky Bill or maybe its just that I have been very lucky. I bought some for both the interior lights, side lights and number plate in dribs and drabs (rather than a set) off ebay in 2016. Zero problems so far (now I've said that they'll now all POP! ). The firm I used was called Virtualex although I can't see them on ebay now. Robin

Hmm. I even went as far as to buy some colours for the footwells:

It's personal taste but I'm not a fan of cool white LEDs, so I bought these from eBay in warm white. Dirt cheap and they are fine for the numberplate lights...

Over a year ago I fitted the PowerfulUk number plate LED's and all ok still, althought they were tight/a pest to fit.
