Not the news I wanted to hear.

Dealer recommendation to monitor and return to dealer for further investigation end June - then go down Warranty route to fix.

Thoughts ? Stratstone Aylesbury.

Not so long ago there was a TSB about leaking rear diffs - if it is still in force you might be due a free repair/replacement so try your dealership - IIRC it was for the e-diff. If you use the search function you will find the thread and the TSB reference number. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I had the same issue in January 2019 with my TDV8 ediff pinion seal at 32K miles. Was serviced 1 month before warranty ran out, they said they 'didn't notice it' but when it was in for first MOT a few weeks later, tester and I could could see it had been leaking for months. Was fixed FOC under warranty just!
Does any one know route cause - ie faulty batch during build etc. Could it happen again, it wasn't a cheap fix, except for the seal.

Funny that: mine went in for its 4th year service on Tuesday, and on a whim I told them the rear diff pinion seal is leaking although I had no evidence of this.

Yesterday I get a call to inform me that this is indeed the case and they had to order the parts from overseas as there are none in ZA

Mines booked in for 3 days mid next week - fingers crossed it gets fixed - together with the airbag light issue.

I had mine in for it's 4 year service and MOT last month and got the same issue.
Land Rover replaced it under warranty (Quoted over £800 if it wasn't under warranty)

2 weeks after getting the car back my rear differential went and the full rear differential was replaced under warranty (Was told if it wasn't under warranty, the part would be £1,400 plus VAT...then there's labour on top of that)

My point being, if you have Land Rover Extended Warranty, then this is covered. Currently driving:

Wow - glad to hear it was fixed and all hail the extended warranty....

Even with these issues, annoying warning lights coming on, still love this car.

My (old) 16MY was leaking at it’s 2nd service, Dealer repaired however diff failed about 4 months later and entire unit was replaced.

Had this issue as well a little past 50,000 miles. Had extended warranty so saved me $990. 2016 SCV8 Dynamic - Firenze Red/Pimento

Had mine fixed 2 weeks ago - Stratstone Aylesbury did a great job - so much so that the car feels different - for the better. I know it was a simple seal replacement but somehow the car just feels better, more responsive, smoother, etc

Sadly the intermittent airbag warning light issue wasn't fixed and still comes on (only when I drive the car - could be my backside is bigger than the wife's
