RRS 2013 UK Boot switch not working

Hi all, first post on this forum.
Last weekend the boot on my 2013 RRS refused to open using the manual switch mounted on the boot lid. The boot does open using the key fob but it's still refusing when trying the manual switch. There's no noise to suggest it's trying to open when I press the switch (as if there no power there at all).
Any ideas what's gone wrong?

Much appreciated.

Are you sure you’re pressing the right place hard enough? I’m sure the plastic cover on mine is getting harder and less flexible requiring more effort in a very precise area. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thanks for the reply BP.
We've had the car for 2 years and we're not doing anything different. The cover feels more 'rubbery' than plastic on ours and doesn't feel any different to at any other time, still quite spongy.
When it's pressed it doesn't make a noise and I seem to recall that you could feel a subtle click before, but not now.
I'm assuming that it's something to do with the switch unit itself, as I said before it does open using the key fob.

Cheers

Have you got a 2 piece or 1 piece door?

If its a 2 piece, then it is quite common for the switch on the upper part to get water in and corrode. A new switch can be easily fitted and is (I think) the same as a Mondeo one, so cheap enough too! It was the first thing I had to do when I bought mine.

In the first post he says it’s a 2013 so a one piece.

There’s also a tail gate module so that could also be an issue. Time to get the multi meter out! 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Yes it is a 2013 (1-piece door).
I'm very much more mechnically-minded, electrics are a black art to me. As far as I'm concerned a multi-meter is a measuring tape!
It's going in for it's MOT tomorrow so I'll mention it when I drop oit off, see if they can sort it out.

Cheers
