I fitted 275 45 20 on mine better ride and better for the rims as they got more side wall |

Ideally you'd go to 19s and fit 255/55. That would give slightly more sidewall than the 275/45/20 already mentioned and gives a reasonable number of tyres to choose from. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Any issue with 19s fitting over calipers or anything like that or is it a straight swap, no speedo discrepancies or anything? |

I run 19s on my SDV6 and ran the same rims on my previous TDV8 which had the four-pot calipers. No issues with either.

Also, only certain variations of 19" wheels fit over Brembo callipers, if you have them. Do a search on here for which ones. |

if you want to stay on the 20s, you can also go 255/55R20 --

The problem with sidewalls is that if you find the wrong bit of rock, it'll take out the sidewall no matter what. We can't easily get the tougher tyre options on the RRS (at least in the UK) so it's always going to be a risk. On three trips around Les Comes (which is all stony/rocky) I only ever suffered a couple of minor surface marks. A trip to mid Wales in a mix of stony and muddy environments saw me suffer a cut down to the cords (not enough to hole the tyre or cause a bulge). Those trips were a mix of Grabber AT (Les Comes) and Grabber AT3 (Les Comes and Wales). One of the vehicles on the Wales trip suffered a puncture on the road section having safely completed the Strata Florida on pure road tyres.

Just get 255 55 20's and keep your existing wheels. The newer sport came with 255, 55 20 as standard. I have them on mine with no issues. If you are concerned about the tyre circumference, you can use the iid tool and change the config to 55's MY12 RRS HSE
