Firstly, apologies again for YET ANOTHER mindless "help me" thread where I publicly demonstrate my ignorance.

(I've started so many of these, I just decided to go donate to this (great) site, as I feel like I'm devouring the bandwidth)

I have sent my faulty electronic parking brake actuator off to be reconditioned, but I just had a message saying that when it returns all shiny and new, I need to make sure the garage use the WEDGE ADJUSTMENT METHOD and also have new shoes and liners fitted... and that I need to tell the garage not to even turn it on until this is done.

And what the hell is a wedge adjustment method!? I want to make sure I can explain this to the mechanics for refitting!

I can imagine them suggesting new brake shoes,, but liners,, unless they mean discs as they would have to be in good condition also or the shoes wouldn't last,, or work too good. Not too many other part to pick from really, the system consists of brake module, cables, discs, shoes and adjusters. As to this not turning it on until everything is fitted,, sounds logical, if you operate the system without discs fitted there would be nothing to limit the travel of module.
This wedge method that is mentioned,, I thought there was only one way to adjust the shoes,, adjust the shoes up until tight, then back off the adjuster so many click ( 6 maybe? ) and that's it.

I don’t think the bibble mentions wedges. I think it just means adjust it correctly at the wheels

Could they actualy mean shoes and linings, as L/R just refer to the complete item as Kit - Brake Lining, I think the shoe kit ends 47 not 46 that is the pawl actuator rod, also unless they have changed it if you buy a genuine L/R kit it only does one wheel, so you need two kits.

Same link as above in a previous reply and works for me, the part number of the kit is LR031947 because I have a pair of these kits in my garage and that is the number on the box. If you google the number I'm sure there are some cheap pattern parts out there.
