Running costs for a 4.4 diesel

I am close to taking the plunge and changing from my Evoque to RRS - the devil inside is saying 4.4 diesel (I can not justify the petrol MPG).

Before I do how does the running costs compare between the 3.0d and the 4.4d, referring to servicing etc. Are there any big service bills like cambelts and if so when and budget pricing.

You never know I might be about to become a bona fide RRS owner soon rather than just a lurker.

The V8 diesels use chains not belts so that's one good thing. It's not unknown for the chain tensioner to need a change, however. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have owned both the SDV6 RRS and currently a SDV8. I got about 32mpg out of the SDV6 overall and am currently getting about 28mpg out of the SDV8 but I expect that to improve as the engine loosens up. So for not noticed much difference in service cost or tyre wear
