United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Fault where to dials on the Dashboard reset themselves

I've had my RRS 2006 for 2 years now with relatively peaceful motoring (apart from the tailgate opening itself) during that time.
It's recently developed a fault with the dial cluster on the dashboard. Initially the rev counter and speedo randomly dropped to zero but would then return to their correct positions. The fault has got progressively worse in that the dails are taking longer to return and now the small LED display in the middle of the cluster that shows how many miles you have left in the tank etc, scrambles. That then comes back on line and starts to count down the amount of miles left in the tank to zero. It doesn't seem to have any effect on the performance of the car.

Any ideas folks.

As above, sounds very much like a faulty cluster. These cars were under Ford ownership at the time and so a lot of parts are FoMoCo and guess what, many of the faults we see are the same as the Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo of the same period.

Here are some of the Ford items on a RRS

Sat Nav
Front Screen
Cluster
Heated seats (via Volvo)
Some Engines and Engine parts
Wiring
TPMS
Lights 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
2012 5.0 SC AB. Sadly written off by a campervan
23 plate Focus ST (Current)
1942 VEP Ford GPW Jeep (Willys) (Current)
1943 Whites M16 Halftrack (Current)
16 plate Eurofighter Typhoon, 2 x Eurojet engines with 20,000lbs thrust each. 1380mph

That thread was 4-5 years old. The OP made only the one post and that was overfinchred's last post on the forum. Neither is going to be answering. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Holy thread resurrection, I hadn’t realised it was an old thread.

I’ve noticed we get a lot of one time visitors who want a quick fix and are then are gone again. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
