Hi there, does anyone know if it’s possible to upgrade my front screen to display the dual view option, on a 2014 RRS Hse Dynamic, it has the dvd and rear entertainment system, and you can watch dvds on the front screen when stationary.

I’ve done it on my 2012 with the screen and control from a 2013 and I’m pretty sure the 2014 uses the same Gen 2.1 front FCDIM. Does the 2014 have soft keys or hard keys to activate the Dual view? Your manual should show this. You will obviously need a FCDIM (Screen) and change at least 3 files in the CCF. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

I’m afraid you’ve lost me with the FCDIM , and CFF , how would you access these files?🧐

FCDIM is Front Control/Display Interface Module. That’s the screen. The L320 has a hard button to select Dual View and a soft Key to exit. If the L494 only has a soft key then it should only need the Dual View FCDIM and the CCF edit, that’s the car configuration file, this file switches on all the options you have and hides what you don’t have. You would need someone with or your own IID tool, VCM2, black box solutions or similar tool to activate. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Thanks for clarifying that, I’ll try and find somebody locally with a IID , and hopefully the screen will support dual view!
I do have a Foxwell code reader , not sure if it supports the RRS bought it for my Disco 3, but wil check!

You’ll need a new screen as they are physically different, the existing screen isn’t capable of dual view so you will need to find a replacement. Can you PM me your VIN and I’ll get you a number to search on eBay. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Install is easy, swop out the FCDIM and the panel, no wiring mods required. The screen is slightly smaller than the standard unit so has its own bezel.

Programming is a little more difficult as you need an IID tool, if you have that then it’s reasonably easy to figure out what to change. The one that I missed initially was the extended panel (extended as in extended functions over standard) and it was a guess that I got it correct. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

No problem, for dual view alone, you just need a dual view screen ( FCDIM) and the control panel with the dual view button.

If you wanted the passenger to watch something and listen to it while you listen to something else, they need the whitefire headphones which means you also need the IR panel in the roof which requires a big bezel. And it requires the cable which plugs into the Amp in the rear right boot compartment.

The CCF edits are the big task, it took quite a bit of experimenting to get it right (I installed RSE at the save time). 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
