Hi Guys, Our second baby arrived yesterday and his MaxiCosi seat is behind the drivers seat as our 23month old sits behind the passenger. I am 6’1 and I have now to bring the drivers seat forwards for the baby seat to fit behind me. Not the best! The baby seat is right up against the bulge on the back of the seat that has all the massage gubbins in. Any ideas that could help please? An expensive option would be to swap the car for one without massage seats.. not ideal though.

My son had sat in a forward facing chair since he outgrew his baby seat and that saves space, I assume your eldest is the same. Any reason you can’t swap the location so the baby is behind the passenger and eldest behind you?

I know that feeling. We also have massage seats and our baby is sitting behing my wife. In three month she will have 15 months and I will then turn her forward. With the new baby seat my wife has a little more space. Before with the maxi cosi.. was a little squeezed
The massage seats with the adjustable shoulder area are taking a little bit space in the back
I had also so called comfort seats in my last BMW and the design was better, because the "shoulder cover" of the seat was mounted to the seat and has moved during adjustment. In the RRS this area is fix.. Range Rover Sport HST D350

I can’t remember the age we took our son out of his rear facing Maxi Cosi, probably around a year, but we opted not to buy the follow on forward facing seat and opted for a Joie seat that swivels 360 which not only makes getting him in and out easier, it also allows for much more room behind the seats. It has a newborn insert as well if I recall. We rarely used to attach the Maxi Cosi to our pushchair so I would use the Joie swivel seat for any additional kids we might have from birth.
