I'm going insane!!

Hi all, I have got 2 problems at the moment with my 2007 RRS 2.7V6. I have a battery drain and cant work out what's draining it, anyone had a drain and found the fault? Also I want so try and find a part for the engine and I cant find what it's called for love nor money, I have attached a picture below of the part I need the name of. All help would be appreciated as I'm close to sticking it in a field and putting a guy on the roof 🙄

Bloodyhell is that it. Just looking online and it's all linked isn't it, I didn't realise and thought it was part of the coolant system! I have had to replace the coolant return fixture that sits on the top of it. Unfortunately the rubber seal that you can see on the pipe on the top is just letting all the water out. Dont seem like I can get just the seal so looks like the whole part will have to be changed!! Nightmare

If you have an multimeter with amps on, remove the positive lead from the battery and connect one lead of the ammeter to the battery positive cable, and the other to the battery terminal (make sure the battery lead and terminal can't touch). Then remove one fuse at a time and check the multimeter. When you remove the fuse that serves the problem item, the amps drawn will drop. Having said all that, a very good place to go to straight away is the rear upper tailgate switch. The one that just opens the window of your tailgate. They corrode and stick causing a current draw. Easy swap out for a new switch and I think about £25 off Ebay.

Lucky for me I removed the tailgate switch because of just what you said. I even replaced it and that filled with water to I just got rid and never put another one in ever again so that one is ruled out that I God, I found the fridge kicks in now and then even when you are away from the car so I disabled that to. As for the multi meter, I had a blast and found no massive difference with anything that was pulled out. I think I'm going to have to take it to a auto electrician before I really loose my patience with it! Got a wedding in 2 months and that the main car so I'm stressing out ha ha

Good luck! Big Cry

If you test and large fuses under the bonnet and find out which one it is leaking though, that is a good start

Just to keep you all updated. I found out the starter motor had gone Pete tong and took the battery to a horrible death with it. So I have changed the starter motor and had the battery replaced (lucky for me the battery was under warranty so I sneaked a new one for free) been sorted a week now and the car has never been so good, literally never. It wasnt this good when I purchased it a few years back. Least to say I'm one happy range rover owner (for now) Rolling with laughter

Thank you all for your help, I did everything you all said and obviously found nothing. Hence mr changing what I've changed
