Seeing as this thread has had a bit of a resurrection, thought I'd ask the question, I never use the tyre stuff as the way I look at, it is once it's on when you rub the tyre either with a rag or your finger it ends up black, so to me as the product is sort of clear that can only mean rubber is coming off with it? Does the branded "good" stuff not do this and it's just the cheap or what they use in car washes that does this ? 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. It's the carbon coming out of the tyre (I think).

For the original topic, what I use is Meguiars Hyper Dressing diluted to between 10% and 20%, sprayed on to a cloth, and then that used to wipe the tyre.

Believe tor not, but Swarfega works brilliantly and is a lot cheaper than the branded stuff, especially if you use it at work.

Being new to the forum your never sure how your posts will be received, however, I've used good old Kiwi black boot polish for years and once buffed up up gives a great finish. Cheaper than most products and your tires will pass inspection.....

But whilst I'm here... I'll chip in with my method of clean the tyres first with All Purpose Cleaner and a good tyre brush. Then I use Chemical Guys VRP on a foam applicator, then just give them a light buff over with a microfibre cloth to remove any excess.

I'm not a huge fan of the shiny tyre look, and found that VRP gives them a nice clean deep black finish but without the shine.

Maguires tyre gel or High stlye,,the only trouble with high style is if you apply it & drive off you get sling,,i use it in a spray bottle & once applied leave the car stood all day,,,if your going to drive off straight away then use maguires gel applied with a sponge. Andy.
