Scenario:-

Mrs VA and I are late - Very late!

Phone rings, it's her tennis partner. Mrs VA then proceeds to talk to her tennis partner for 20 minutes whilst I'm constantly pointing to my watch suggesting that she should end the conversation sharpish! Finally Mrs VA ends the conversation and we are now very very late! Guess who is to blame now for us being late? Yes me - I then get an earful for not getting her off the phone sooner!

I feel your pain, VA.... this is exactly what happens here.

With Mrs Shmoogle, the delay is often which clothes to wear... or which handbag to take. So the whole wardrobe gets opened and contents emptied onto the bedroom floor.... where they stay, of course.

There is a lot to be said for being single... I remember it fondly! Every day in fact!

Don't start me on what Mrs VA wears! One day she's one size and the next she's another and needs a complete new wardrode of stuff, then guess what she's back to her previous size but all those clothes are out of season and 'so last year'!
