2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Many Warning Lights & Messag

On Friday last week I drove to Hertford and on the return journey just past Bristol 5 amber warning lights plus some messages came on, I slowed down and checked to make sure the vehicle was safe to drive and in my opinion it was so we came home. Yesterday I took it to my local garage in Perranporth who specialises in Land Rovers and he plugged his machine in and found several faults and cleared them. All amber warning lights gone off and no messages. He advised me to see how it goes and report back.

So yesterday we went to Camborne got halfway and again 5 amber warning lights and messages came on we carried on no problem and did our shopping and on the return journey no warning lights or messages and again it went well. I took it to the battery firm who checked the battery and said it was really good, so no problem there.

My question is this with all these faults coming on and making journey's a worrying nightmare. Is there a fix please because if I can't get to the bottom of what is wrong then I for one will have to give up a life time of Range Rovers which I love and go Japanese, please can someone shed some light on what might be wrong or is there a wiz out there that can cure all these electronic faults that on the face of it aren't faults at all!!!?

Your thoughts would really be appreciated.

Further to my post I have just been out for a quick test and all five lights and messages came on within a few miles! Same message about the ACC Sensor Blocked could this cause all these lights and messages to come on at the same time?

Update: -

Took it into my local Garage that specialises in Land Rovers and they found the right rear ABS connector was loose and could well be the reason for all the amber lights. Time will tell!!!

A loose ABS sensor would cause all of those lights because they all relate to dynamic control systems that use the ABS sensors in some way. Hopefully if they have fixed the sensor then the rest should go away too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have the same or at least similar problem but the car won't even limp, masses of lights come on and it just slows down completely.. The engine keeps running but absolutely no power. Switch off, and wait a few seconds. Switch on and all is well.

RR Sport 2009, 3.6 TDV8 with 203 000km. It seems always to happen when I accelerate up a hill and usually within a couple of minutes of starting up. However on a trip from Yeovil back to Weymouth it happened half way back as I put my foot down to overtake on a long climb.

There are so many lights I can't remember them all but from recollection: Suspension error, suspension lowered, HDC fault, Gearbox fault, Engine Fault.

I have recently been having problems in that the car is not picking up when driving slow, like approaching a roundabout. We replaced the brake switch (under the dashboard) twice now but that doesn't seem to fix it. I sometimes have a feeling the brakes are coming on very slightly without me having my foot on the pedal.

We thought it might be a battery problem so I bought a new (original) one.

Anyway the car has become useless because I can't trust it to go anywhere more than down the road to local newspapers.

Any tips and hints very appreciated. I love the car and would hate to have to get rid of it.

My thoughts won't fix all your problems I'm afraid but low power could be a leak in the intercooler pipes. An easy thing to check for at no cost. I'm afraid it sounds more serious than that but easy to check and fix if necessary. Robin

Thanks for the suggestion. If you mean the two 2.5" pipes that go from above the radiator to the engine, they were replaced a short while back. I have had that fault before because the pipes deteriorate quickly. However when that happens I only ever got an engine error and not a complete christmas tree. I am going to the workshop this morning and will of course ask them to check the pipes again.

However you somehow jolted my memory that I did have a fault some years ago with a hairline crack in the valve cover on one side of the V8. That might well be worth taking a look at. I remember it was expensive because it is a lot of work to replace them.

An added note. The workshop have found that the fuel filter was almost blocked. Evidently it had never been replaced on my 09 RR. Seems to run very nicely now but only time will tell if this was causing all the warning likes to come on.
