My 2016 model had its 3 year service recently, the oil level sensor appeared to report a valid oil level, however, oil in the plug was picked up during the service inspection and the car booked in for replacement of the sensor. Job now done. All okay, except that when I arrived home and checked the oil level, it responded “overfilled, do not drive, engine damage etc”. Rather than have all the hassle and time of reporting this back to the dealer, I simply sucked half a litre of oil out, had a short drive, waited and re-checked. Now reports OK. |

My 2015.5 HSE D used to flash that message up frequently, at the next restart it would disappear and everything was back to normal. It was annoying and I was never able to get it to do it when the car was near to a service bay! It stopped doing it after I had a replacement TFT dash screen after that went black permanently and was replaced under warranty 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
