Is a RRS 3.L 6spd Auto box compatible with D3 & early D4

I have a low mileage 16k auto box out of 3L RRS, am l right in thinking this would be compatible with D3 and early D4s which run the 6 spd auto box ? Thanks

No, different CAN network. Mechanically compatible, but would need a D3 mechatronic unit to work

Ok thanks for that, any idea how much these boxes go for ? I swapped the engine from the RRS I bought into my D4 but didn’t use the Auto box as my D4 is 8 spd.. have seen a reconditioned ones from Mackies Transmisions in Glasgow for £1995 plus VAt but not sure if this the going rate..

They are on eBay for £4-500 for a good, used box
