SVR Rejection

Evening All,

After what has been a 11 month wait for me on a new SVR I have had to Reject it. In under 30 days it has been back to the garage 4 times with electrical issues ranging from headlights not working properly to no music or satnav, with on the most recent occasion no infotainment.

Asked the dealer on Monday to reject it and they accepted same-day, only thing now is to argue over the £4K paint protection film I had applied in good faith that it would be as reliable as the previous 2016 SVR I had...

Any advice on the PPF would be appreciated?

This is a real shame, I thought they had ironed out the faults on the 2019 model, my replacement SVR is due in the next couple of weeks which I have been waiting 12 months for, really hope that doesn't have faults too! 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!

That's a bummer, especially after such a long wait... Picked mine up on Friday and have the headlight fault warning showing, and the drivers key not working for keyless functionality, so a trip back to the dealer already, loving it otherwise though, amazing car. Did the headlight issue take long for them to sort out, do you know what the problem was?

Such a shame especially after you have put PPF on the car.

You might want to take some legal advise on the PPF but I think that might not be something you can get the cost back from the dealer for though. I wish you luck trying they could offer you a discount on another SVR order to cover that cost if you were ordering one but it would all be a gesture of good will I feel.

On the 4 occasions that it was back, did they fix each problem or not. I assume they gave you a decent car to use while they had it.
I can see your frustration & why it was rejected but did you think it through first especially with your 4k outlay. Rejection is the buzz word nowadays, you see it on all forums. Don't think I would reject it cos the music or nav didn't work, not exactly a catastrophic failure. Before I get slaughtered, no it should not happen on such an expensive car, it should not happen on a cheap car, but with mass production, these things happen.
Did you order another one, if so it may end up with faults.
Think you have lost out on your 4k as they did not tell you to put it on
With the same day rejection acceptance they may already have someone waiting to buy it. The car has probably been sold by now with the faults fixed & one happy owner who got free PPF

That's such a shame.

It's my dream to one day own one of these awesome cars. But the thought of waiting nearly a year to then be given a lemon means that I won't be going ahead with my dream.

Wishing you luck with everything. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

I had the headlight fault warning for a while on my 2019 svr too, I just ignored it as I could not see anything wrong with the headlights.
The warning seems to have gone now, haven't seen it in a while *crossing fingers*
Haven't had any other issues so far

RRS Oli, your symptoms are similar to those some Jag owners have reported with the latest (18D) software, which allegedly were going to be fixed by the issue of 19A, which itself was then pulled as it bricked a few cars.

There is currently little that can be done until JLR have debugged 19A.

Yes they confirmed there is a lot of software bugs and unable to try sell the car till there is a new update released.

On the update side, dealer as agreed to refund the PPF so all good news in the end. 2019 Urban Urus - May Delivery. Gone to the dark side...

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

After all this time with various bugs in software for all sorts things going back to at least 2010 with BMS software issues that dragged on for 4 or 5 years before it was resolved, you wonder why JLR (and other car makers as JLR aren’t the only ones) don’t hold onto these “non-fixes” until they have got them working. They don’t seem to understand that quickly rushing out the fix to end all issues that then fails makes them look like a bunch of incompetents. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Doesn't seem to stop Microsoft or Apple - they have been known to cause a few issues with their OS updates, too.

Seems to be the way of things where software is concerned. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I didn’t get 5 miles from the dealer without having my issue ... I’m currently less than one week in and its with the dealer for a leaking rear washer pipe. The leak was on the inside, every time I tried to wash the rear windscreen I received a facial! It’s a demo with under 1200 miles and I’m furious, if I’m not taken care of with my return due tomorrow and it running smoothly I will be looking at my options to cancel the agreement. so disheartened and hoping this is the only issue I will have Confused
