More than likely the heating element is damaged in the screen I'm afraid. |

So a new screen is needed? It does have a stone chip in the middle of the screen perhaps I could get it changed |

It's got power to it because it's working in part, but there is no way to repair it if the heating element is damaged in places. If you have windscreen cover on your insurance, it could be replaced if the screen was damaged by a bird strike or someone to that effect. Although it is unlikely to get replaced for a just chip........ |

If some strips take longer, then they take longer.

I've had heated screens for 25 years or more (originally on Fords). They all do that after a while and the only resolution is a new screen. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

My old Focus Heated Screen lasted from the day I bought it in 2002 till the day I sold it for scrap in 2017, no loss at all. Not bad for a cheap and cheerful car. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

When I first got the current car, mine was the same. Turned out to be a fuse. Worth a check. Cheers, Stuart. RRS 2012 HSE 5.0 S/C Zermatt Silver. RRS 2005 4.2 S/C First Edition Rimini Red- Gone but not forgotten Defender 2005 TD5 XS Black - Gone Freelander 2006 HSE Blue - Gone |

My understanding is there is a fuse for each side so it could be that you have one bad side with dead elements but if the whole side is dead it may be a fuse. Of course, there could still be dead elements in that side too. Cheers,
