Can you retrospectively fit bluetooth PTI?

Can you retrospectively fit bluetooth PTI?
Shocked I ordered my RRsport in July and was quoted a 2007model, 2007 price, 2007 colour scheme and what was supposed to be the updates to the spec for 2007.
I got a phone call from the dealership 5 days ago saying my car had arrived but was 2006 spec!! After a few choice words and feeling extremely sick of my local dealership I resigned myself that because they had had my trade- in for a month & that I needed a car I had to compromise.
I pick up the car tomorrow and although I am paying a reduced price for my 2006 car the real P--- off is I do not have the PTI although the controls appear to be on the steering wheel.
Can this bluetooth system be added as a retrofit??
If so please tell me what I need to purchase to make it work.
Thouroughly p---ed of purchaser. ( The car is beautifull though!!!)

Yes a BT retro kit can be added. For your info there's one on ebay at the moment! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Do RRS's all have the PTI steering wheel controls then?
Thought you only got them where PTI is fitted, you do on D3's

Bluetooth support only can be added with a dealer installed BT kit, part # VUB501151 plus appropriate language control unit. Unlike the factory PTI however, you won't get support for cradled phones (no big loss there, the few phones supported by a cradle in the Sport are Cold War relics by now Wink ) and will be unable to use the radio keypad for dialing out and/or radio LCD to get info such as Caller ID on incoming calls... But you can use the steering wheel paddle to answer, send and terminate calls, and the somewhat clunky voice recognition system to store and dial about 50 names/numbers. If you have to pay for the kit, you may also want to look at aftermarket alternatives such as Parrot, offering many more features for the price, even though they may look less well integrated than the dealer BT kit.

I thought the paddles for the steering wheel came with the dealer BT kit in cars that didn't have factory PTI, but obviously that is no longer the case, if buchaneer is correct. PTI is going to be stock on every trim of Sport (only 2: 4.4-liter HSE and 4.2 SC) in North America for MY2007. Don't know if the same is true in Europe / ROW.

As umbertob says you may well have PTI Wink
Again as umbertob says if you have not got it the Parrot kits are excellent, I have one in my van and I am very pleased with it, a couple of people have fitted them in their D3's too.

Ha ha, so you have paid £45k plus (probably a lot more where you are) for a car that is based on a van!

When are the van and pikey jokes going to end? I am all for a laugh but it is getting a bit boring.
I paid £30k for a car that I am very proud of, it is awsome off road and can carry 7 people, it has great prescence on the road.
I didn't pay the extra £15k plus for a car that has 2 less seats (but seats that are covered in a very nice leather)
Yes the RRS looks very nice (especially the seats) but to be honest that is all you really get for your extra £15k.

I am not having a dig at anyone, just saying that we all bought the car that suits our purpose and budget, but I did not pay £30k for a van Rolling Eyes

Hi Bobby as I say not having a go at anyone Very Happy , as I said in another post the other day I actually seriously looked at an RRS in a showroom the last weekend but it came down to do I want to pay another £15k+ for a car that has much nicer seats but 2 less of them.
I am not knocking RRS's I think they look great, but still think my D3 is a great CAR too Laughing

Wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all liked the same things, it's what makes us unique. Each to their own I say. Saying that it is human nature to have a 'pop' at people for what they do have, it's only jealousy at the end of the day. We aren't robots are we? Very Happy
