Evoque steering box bolts failures

Several members of BabyRR have reported steering box securing bolts failing due to corrosion. There is a known issue with these due to poor manufacture quality control by the supplier ( a German company supplies the bolts) In a lot of countries there has been government safety recall of all Evoques to have these bolts replaced before they fail out on the road and cause a fatality.......... but JLR in the UK claim that they will not replace them for UK owners because there isn’t a problem and they are refusing point blank to replace one members failed bolts because the 4 year old car was not serviced service by a JL`r main dealer at its service in 2018 after it fell out of warranty. In all other countries where failures have happened there has been no issue with a safety recall, JLR has been forced in much of Europe and the USA to recall all cars for a fix, but it hasn’t happened in the UK........... more evidence that JLR does care a fig about their UK customers or their safety in JLR products. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Been there, done that. Common issue by all accounts. And a cool £2.5k for a new rack (+ fitting!) , should it happen...

Can't buy replacement bolts, belt drive or pump for it...

I remember our previous Toyota. Pretty common for head gasket failures around 100k, so Toyota extended the goodwill for the head gasket issues to 7yrs and 150k miles

That's customer service. This nonsense from JLR is utter Censored Rolling Eyes
