Replacement Brake Pads

Does anyone know anywhere around London that fit Land Rover approved brakes for RRS? Our car’s warning light has come on and Lookers West London want to charge £860 to replace both the front and rear pads.

I’m tempted to just put after market ones on from somewhere like Kwik Fit but Land Rover are saying that it would void the warranty on the whole car if it’s done (not sure how true this is but this is what they’ve told me). As the car is isn’t 2 years old yet I don’t really want to run the risk of losing the warranty on the car.

There’s also bit of a wait at the dealerships to get them fitted and need to get them done ASAP. Do most of you just get the dealers to fit them or does anyone know someone decent around London that’s fits the approved brakes?

Many thanks.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking haha. Only thing I can think of is if they do that complimentary vehicle health check video before they do any work but even then would they actually be able to tell.

Yeah complete con. Hoping someone can recommend someone good around London that isn’t a complete rip off.

my dealer says pads are wearing part so no impact on warranty, just like tyres

Fronts are straight forward, backs need to be wound back using this method, but again dead simple

quality pads, springs and sensors are really cheap. I went for EBC

price fitted by my local garage £300 all in for all 4 corners

Thanks for the tips! So I took it in get them done at a garage. Front pads were fine but they couldn’t release the electronic hand brake to access the rear pads. I showed them the procedure in your link but it don’t work.

I phoned up Land Rover and spoke to a technician and apparently that method doesn’t work for MY17 cars onwards and has to be accessed using Land Rover software. Can’t beleive how hard they make it just to change the rear brake pads.

So now it’s booked in with Land Rover to get the rear pads changed.

That price is a joke! I would use a indie with RR parts. Is that cost just paid or discs too? although being two years I very much doubt you need discs unless you drive and break like you stole it.
