Auto access height

So after 3 weeks of ownership and searching everywhere to find out how to get this to work I have finally gone and done it.

It now lowers and raises itself every time and I am so happy. I only use to commute to work and back mostly so no concerns over Kurds or anything.

So how I did was super easy. First turn it on using the settings on dash/speedo. Vehicle settings. Convenience settings and turn it on. The. Start the car. Put it access mode manually using the button in centre to lowest point. Then start your journey.

As soon as you reach a certain speed (I think 20/25) it raises to normal drive height.

Then when you park and turn engine off or unbuckle seat belt it lowers slightly. Then when you open door it lowers som more.

When you get back in again just start engine and drive, you never have to do it manually again.

Oh the seconds this has saved my life from having it press a button by hand Smile

To be honest I wouldn't want mine to lower once Ive stopped as it puts strain on the tyres & suspension,,I always put mine in access mode just as I'm approaching my drive then it's dropped by the time Ive stopped.

I've set mine to auto access as per LR instructions, how does this put a strain on wheels and tyres as opposed to lowering whilst still moving?
Thanks
Tim

If you watch is while it is lowering it pushes the tyres out & the cannot be doing it any good over time.As the suspension drops the wheels move inwards from the top hence putting pressure on tyres & suspension.

Bit of a thread resurect...

Is the auto access height standard on RRS HSE's? It's just that I have a (new to me) 2014 RRS HSE and I can't for the life of me find the setting. With two children under 10 it would make my life a lot easier if the car settled when parking without my having to remind myself to push the button each time. First world problems I know.

I have no 'Convenience' option under the dash menu.

The my14 hasn’t got auto access mode you have to do it manually with the switch,I always flick the button to lower a few metres before I stop. Andy.

Fair enough. Disappointing, but I'll get by.

Also makes sense as my last one was a 65-plate which I think (could be wrong) had auto access mode.

I love this feature! We had the older model (2010) and always wanted it to do it itself. Got fed up of forgetting to set it to access mode. I was very happy when I realised our new one has auto access height. This along with the Deployable side steps does make me smile.

My '15 plate doesn't have this - I've always used the manual button when stopped. But after reading your post @Tyrefitter - I think I need to be pushing it earlier before I come to a halt SVR with a few bits from Urban and Glohh

Hi,
as Andy says ^ if you lower while the car is still moving it gives the suspension bushes time to flex and move, if its done when parked it loads the bushes a bit more

and

The auto setting for access mode can "time out" if you stop the car and turn ing off but dont get out straight away, can not remember how long it takes but if you are aware it can do Whistle

istr that our 2010 had auto access mode?
