Unless you have the optional park heating, the FBH (fuel burning heater) is an entirely automatic device. It's used when the external temperature is below about 6 deg C (some are higher than that it seems) and where the coolant temperature is below a certain threshold. I.e. if the engine is cold/cool and the ambient temperature is cold.

Thank you so much for the reply. Very very helpful, I'm glad it's not a case of operator error. I was thinking how do I turn this thing on but now I know I have to buy the additional kit I will.. 👍🏻 😁 |

Do a search on the forum and you should find a recent-ish thread about the kits etc. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Worth checking on topix what your car is supposed to have. I just needed to buy the remote fob and it worked. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

I can't find the the thread on the forum but there's a receiver module in the drivers side boot cubby. If you have it, then you just need the fob to transmit to it. The thread explains how to pair the fob (from memory, you just have to remove and replace a fuse). Merc C220 estate Sport AMG
