Tailgate on my RRS 2013 opens without pressing the key fob

Just recently the tailgate on my RRS 2013 (old shape) has started to open on its own. I sit waiting to start the car and there is a click & the tailgate opens. It also happens when I walk past with the fob in my pocket & even of its own accord in the night. I have tried both fobs and the result is the same. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

First thing would be to get the codes read. I assume you are saying it happens regardless of if the car is locked or unlocked? And does it happen every time or is it random? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

It is random and irrelevant of if the car is locked or unlocked, very strange.

Does it happen just after locking/unlocking the car or can it be hours later? Just at home or anywhere? Being a 2013 car, does it just open and stay down or open and power up to fully open? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The problem can occur at anytime, but it is usually just after I have started the engine. Generally the tailgate latch clicks but does not open fully although it has opened fully once.

All,
I have been in touch with numerous garages and they have not heard of the issue, like wise with the main dealerships. All the dealership say is bring it down we will place on the diagnostic and see where we go, cost £180 per hour. Any other thoughts??

Having the same problem at the moment. Has anyone found a fix? Hoping it's something small.
