Cannot seem to find the cause

Literally cannot seem to find the cause of this and it’s driving me insane.

While this has been going on I’ve had lower suspension arms changed, bushes changed, suspension compressor changed erm few other things but cannot think right now lol

So basically going over any kind of bump over 20-30mph the back boot area is noisy but I have nothing there, the car is literally empty when I drive to work and back these days.

Has anyone come across this before? RRS TDV6 2010 Smile

From memory I think the rear exhaust has been mentioned before. Perhaps just give that a once over.

Try some heavy weights in the boot. (bags of sand) & see if noise is still there or set to off road height & see if its there. May point to suspension air bags. Just a guess.

There’s 2 very heavy swinging weight at the rear to (I believe) dampen harmonic resonance in the body. These weights can knock as they swing. Someone with a better idea can explain. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

If you have added any aftermarket exhaust or exhaust trims these can tap on the harmonic balance weights and the mountings, when I added chrome tail pipe trims to my TDV8 in 2007 it took an age to find that that was the cause of the metallic rattle from the near side rear. Loosened off the trim and turned it a tiny bit to clear the harmonic damper and no more rattles. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thank for all your input, I'll bear it all in mind when I take it to Land Rover specialist after I've tested it in off road height.

Will see how it goes and report back Smile RRS TDV6 2010 Smile

I had something similar which was worse going slowly over a rough road than potholes. I had my local indy look at the bushes and they said all was well, ie it would pass an MOT. However there was a small amount of movement in the rear ARB bushes. I had them replaced (£250) and all is now quiet.

Only stuff in the rear area is the break down kit but that's well fitted..
