I had a standard non Bluetooth IID for my L320. Anyway when I bought my L494 I got on to IID Diagnostics for a new code for the L494. Anyway to cut a long story short they no longer support the non Bluetooth version but they gave me a full credit on my old one against the cost of a new Bluetooth IID. If you look on their website it costs net $canadian about 300 for the exchange. You have to mail them your old unit.

I am also interested in some recommendations about diagnostic tools.
what I am looking for: cooling temperature and DPF informations (and if possible: oil temperature)

does the GAP IID tool cover this?

I checked on their website. the BT version costs 681$ CAD.
IMHO, it is a lot of money for some informations to check.
any other suggestions?

I have a Blue Tooth Dongle connected to Motoscan. Gives me all the info I require. Can clear fault codes, read fault codes only misses some of the RR specific codes, so basically I can work out most issues and decide if I need dealer support. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

background of my question: I would like to check the real temperature in my daily driving routes so that I know after how many kilometers the engine is warm (DPF..)
I didn't find out after which engine temperature the DPF regeneration process could start

sure, especially when your currency is trading at 17 vs the pound!!!

But I have two LRs, and we often drive in very rural/remote areas, so it's essential for me. Not to mention that this allows me to remap my Puma as well  --
