I’m being told by the current owner of an 2013 model RRS Black Edition That I’m going to look at in mind of buying that it doesn’t have a service book? He said to me by email ‘There isn’t a service history book and they (meaning LR it has a FMDSH so he tells me) they email you a pass certificate each year’ I’ve owned a 2013 model some years ago and I’m sure it had a service book? This all came about when I asked him for pictures of the service history book to be sent to me prior to traveling a few hundred miles to view said car. I’ve spoken to him by phone once, he sounded a decent guy but I’ve been asking for extra pictures of the vehicle including evedance of the service history book and a walk around video which was supposed to be sent over yesterday but didn’t arrive? Today he tells me that his business partner has borrowed the car and he cant get me the extra pictures until next week, there’s no service book only emails? Obviously I need to check it out with the main dealer but I’m unable to do this until Monday. Is it just me but if I’m selling a vehicle I’m as keen as mustard to send requested pictures etc to perspective buyers I cant understand the delay unless there’s something not right? Alarm bells are starting to ring! If your selling a car would you lend it out for the weekend when a prospective buyer was on the line keen to view it? If it’s a 2013 it’s history should be on the system and as he says it’s a FMDSH any main dealer should be able to call it up and check it out. Can topix do this to? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Buster, I know this won’t be the info you are looking for but........... I think you should walk away, something isn’t right and you could be about to be scammed.......... My 2011 Evoque and also 2014 one had paperless service histories but whenever the cars were in for work a printout of the service history was left in the car with the manual - I will admit to having used one of the smallest and best franchises in the network though. The inablity of the two London dealers who I purchased cars from to supply a printout of the history was one reason why I returned to my local dealership in Stirling. My Countryman has returned twice to the dealers recently for unscheduled work, on the 2nd visit there was a printed out history that contained the records of both visits. If you can get the VIN of the car you are interested in, try JLR Topix to see what is recorded there as the car is new enough to be recorded in that system. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim I have asked for the vin number and engine numbers as well I’ve asked for a lot of stuff like more photo’s of the car, the dash with car running, the milage reading, photo of the service book and a walk around video but nothing as yet has come through just excuses and delays? I’ve text to say I’d come up ASAP to view but now he’s lent it out for the weekend? So he can’t get the photo’s done until next week! My old 2013 RRS1 had a service book.
It was stamped whenever it went in for a service, be it main dealer or independent.

Everybody has got service books with their 2013 model and I still heard nothing from this guy three days after I asked for information and photos? Think I'll give this one a wide berth he's either sold it, changed his mind or is trying to get moody details for a vehicle that doesn't have any?
