I am looking, I have till October so I will have time for a good look,
but so far word of mouth has not been good with local independents..
only two that are mentioned and one I used with a Freelander and would not
put my push bike in there for a service let alone my pride and joy,,

The other I need more info, but it looks like a farm building/unit, and its
doesn't look to be somewhere I want to take and leave my pride and joy..

Maybe I am a little overly careful but I would rather pay a little more and
be sure that the car will be in reasonably good hands..

I do wish I could do it myself so I could be sure, but I am useless with a spanner.. Embarassed ===========================================

I'm afraid Main Stealers leave a bit to be desired as well with standards.

That is very true,
but at least its clean there,

I don't want to have to steam clean the car after some greasy garage oik has climbed all over it
inside and out..

The search will continue as will the saving pot for whoever gets the pleasure of doing the service
in question..

I knew it would not be a cheap car to own before I handed over my pennies to purchase it...

As an owner of what I believe to be a luxurious & expensive car you should sometimes just accept
that its not going to be cheap, save some money where you can safely, but don't cut corners
and ruin the experience..

For the likes of myself its a one off purchase, and something I hope will last for many years.. ===========================================

Last time I had mine done by a main dealer they spilt so much oil over the engine and underneath that I thought I had a major oil leak, so much so I actualy got L/R assist out to look. Ended up having to have engine and chassis washed of there was so much. That was Crapstone Land Rover Aylesbury for you. And that doesn't include what they got over the drivers seat and steering wheel.

Cheers

I still remember a few years back when a main dealer dropped Muddywheel’s RRS off the ramps during a service! Shocked

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi

Have you considered using Gigglepin near Tonbridge Kent. I have used them for the past 5 years servicing my 2008 RRS. Usual cost for a full service and MOT is just under £400.
When I had my belts done I used my local Land Rover dealer in Canterbury, who price matched the independents pricing. The cost in 2015 was around £715 including the service, so its certainly worth asking around as you have plenty of time

OP is in Scotland - Ayr, on the Clyde coast. If going north of the Clyde is inconvenient, Kent would be out if the question I suspect 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

I must count myself fortunate then,, the indie I use, Team valley landrover in Gateshead are spot on and I have never paid anywhere near £700 for a service,, half that amount at the most. Nice modern workshops and office areas, they always use top quality oils etc and genuine LR parts, the car is always returned having been cleaned inside and out. The guys always have time for a chat or any advise / info you may need. Just had to have brake pipes renewed,, both front to back ad cross axles replaced with MOT at £400, didn't think it was bad at all. Would recommend these to anyone. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

This is great information..just a little more than an hour away..

I will do some digging of my own now, and see how it goes from there,,

I am between Ashford Barrett's & Canterbury Barrett's and their pricing is only a few ££ different between them..

Thank you very much.. ===========================================
