Brexit will be blamed when the UK market for overpriced 4x4 dries up. And that will be fair blame. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Considering China makes a lot of our every day items it may not be a completely bad thing. They make a lot of branded items under contract and then sell the same item without the brand name for a lot less money on the likes of eBay and Ali Express. Imagine if they produced a 3.0 SDV6 crank to the same spec as the JLR contract items but sell it for a few hundred pounds. No need to purchase a whole new engine. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The more that gets produced overseas and shipped to the UK is good for my employment as I command the big containerships that carry the bits from China / USA and Asia to Europe. i’ll Be kept employed when the engine plants in the UK stop manufacturing and only put completed engines into cars, someone has to bring them here from Asia! As mentioned in another post, JLR’s retrenchment in the Midlands has meant difficult times for his property letting business because they aren’t employing as many temporary people in the developement and research parts of the company here. We also loose skilled labour and end up only being a nation of unskilled pneumatic screwdriver and wrench drivers......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

well, at least if the Chinese are making SDV6s cheap, you can buy a couple for when the crank breaks --

I remember chatting with my indie last year about cranks. He said that he'd had a chat with a Chinese company about cranks and they were up for it - problem is that he had to order several thousand! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
