Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I have just put a small holding deposit on a 65 (reg December 2015) plate RRS Autobiography Dynamic 3.0 engine with 30,000 miles in Loire Blue with cream leather interior and optional extras including: deployable side steps, deployable tow bar, Meridian upgrade, TV, panoramic roof, 21" delta wing wheels and some other bits and pieces. Price is £48,500 and I am buying from a LR main dealer (so get 2 year warranty with the car) it has a full LR service history and 1 owner from new. Due to complete the deal on Friday and was looking for some advice before concluding:

1. Is this a fair price?
2. I have had BMW X5 and a Porsche Cayenne previously and concerned about reliability? Is this a valid concern as I am hearing reliability on newer models is not bad?
3. I have pushed the dealer as hard as possible on price is there anything else I should be asking for?
4. Are there any known issues/concerns with this model/year that I should be aware of?
5. What questions should I be asking about the car?

I sat in a mates RRS and was bowled over and decided to give one a go. Any advice greatly appreciated?

has it got a Full size spare (and the same size as whats on the car)

is there a service pack on the car (5 services included) many sales peeps dont know ask service dept using the reg

Manufacturers warranty for another month get anything done under this! the 2 year is Approved warranty although good it does not cover everything like known faults ......

would expect it to come with a very recent service and MOT

We love ours and have only had a rear light changed under warranty as condensation and new boot struts and realign the boot as did not shut even.

check the leather seats f & r for poor fitting.

are all the tyres fitted to original spec (not cheap tyres that are just the correct size)

and lastly try and get a full tank of fuel thats $100

Ask about the crankshaft failure issue & ask them to put it in writing that if it fails it is covered as the approved warranty is third party & not like the original Lr cover as the original cover runs out December 18 on its third birthday.& if the salesman try’s bunging you off & telling you he hasn’t heard anything about the failure then he’s only just started at LR or he’s bullshiting you.

Thank you both really helpful.

1. Have the full car spec and can find no mention of a spare wheel? It does mention a tyre repair kit, does this means it has no spare?
2. Is my understanding right that I should go to my local LR dealer immediately after picking the car up and ask them to fix all know issues whilst still under warranty? Will they do this?
3. The car has another year of the service pack.
4. Is there any remedial work that can be done to ensure the crankshaft issue does not happen?

1 If it has a inflation kit then it won’t have a spare.
2 Their shouldn’t be any issues hopefully if buying fron a Lr dealership.
3 you are covered for next service,if it had 5 year service plan it should have 2 services left.
4 Not even Lr know which crankshafts have problems,,or so they say,it just goes without warning.
