is this oil any good

Hi All,

with my service due in under 1500 miles i thought i would look around for some oil... and driving what now appears to be circa 25k miles a year (30k last year and 20k the previous) I thought i might buy in bulk....

with the "black friday" deals being touted around I found this on eurocar parts...

Shell Engine Oil (Helix Ultra Professional AF 5W-30 Engine Oil - 20ltr)

all for £45 delivered... is it any good?

just make sure its the correct C3 or whatever is required

and how to get the oil out of the 20l container. hand pump ?

20; is a sensible amount to buy

Second comment on oil in an hour!!!

Does you car have a DPF? if so this oil is wrong for your car as it's A5 B5 The handbook will specify the grade you need so check it matches the oil. If you do have a DPF you need SHELL HELIX ULTRA AF-L 5W-30 C1.


That said I have never seen it at that price, but a new engine is a lot more.

I have the 2010 3.0 TDV6 so no DPF.

Will check with them on the spec as can’t see it on n the picture..

That is the exact oil RR gave to me to put in my 3.0 2011 tdv6 so I think you should buy at that price Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

With no DPF that oil is good - A5. Thumbs Up

Are you sure? I have a 2010 TDV6 and mine has a DPF.

The spec for mine is ACEA C1 to spec WSS-M2C934-B

IIRC they were an option in 2010 and fitted as standard in 2011.

Helix Ultra Professional AF 5W-30 Engine Oil AF matches 5W/30 WSS-M2C913-B or C non DPF

Helix AF-L matches 5W/30 WSS-M2C934-B with DPF
