Well, these things do happen legitimately... for every car with a fault, there's loads more without. Mine is a year old now and (touch wood) I've not had a single fault that I've needed a dealer to rectify yet so it's horses for courses to some extent.

That said, I can completely understand you not wanting to spend 50k on something that worries you from the outset. At the end of the day, it's your choice... if you feel uncomfortable going with it, don't go with it. There are plenty of others out there to choose from (OK, maybe not Kahns - but ask yourself if it's really this that you want) Very Happy

I will go with shmoogle again. If you have reservations about the quality of THIS particular car, then avoid it. There are plenty more in the market... .

If its the Kahn thing you're after, well, we have a saying in this region, "worried no money only!" - if you get the drift! Wink Malaysia Boleh!

hi
just a point, the imports will have a 3 year warranty & assistance from landrover but unless he is very clued up this will have to be put in place and generally they will start from the day the car was bought abroad from the supllying dealer not when regsitred over here.

also if he has been driving it un-registered for 400 miles ..... when u regsiter the car as new it should be new and not 400 miles....

And lastly the 3 year warranty in imports is unttil 60,000 miles and not un-limited as uk cars.

that said i would have no problem buying an imported car as long as it was registred for the warranty for a good 3 years and done correctly (i.e vat paid etc)

hope this helps

not keen on kahn things personally, thing a bit over the top...

Hi i did ring land rover main head office on 0870 5000 500, i give them the chassis number they did say it's an import and also said about the 60k warranty but was also told that if you go into one of the landrover dealers and ask them to transfer it to a uk warranty they should do that !!! so im assuming that you will have a unlimited mileage warranty !!!

I would try and give it a miss if I was you, as the others have said there seam to be plenty of cars available at the moment.
This one sounds like it could be more hassle than what it is worth, plus you will get less for it come trade in time due to it being an import, I know I did the same thing a few years back.

If you're buying the car because it has the Kahn thing fitted already, then that's a mistake.

'Worry no money only' means your only worry would be if you have no money. If you have enough money you think you can't get all these after market add-ons?? So just buy a car you're comfortable with and then add on the after-market accessories as you please.

After all you have the money!! Wink Wink

So only worry is 'if no money'!! Laughing Laughing

Hope that explains it. Cool Malaysia Boleh!
