I took delivery of my SVR in March and my previous car was a MY15 5.0L Autobiography. I initially wanted to see how much fun the SVR could be and probably did drive it a more aggressively than my 5.0L Autobiography. But having got used to it, I tend to have it in the normal drive mode most of the time and find it almost as comfortable and refined when just cruising as my 5.0L Autobiography. But yes it is a very addictive car ![]() Jas Current RRS: MY18 SVR Previous RRS: MY15 RRS 5.0L Autobiography |

Have you considered the V8SC in non SVR trim? Would be much more quiet and 90% of what the SVR is. |

BKHK if you had the normal V8SC can you tell me why you didn't like it from the point of view of the engine, I get all the other build issues but was the standard tune V8SC in normal trim not a good car engine wise? |

Engine is superb, plenty of grunt when needed, quiet when cruising. I can’t fault it, but like some others, a diesel is fine for cruising and the occasional quick trip. I just didn’t drive the SC quickly enough times to get daily pleasure from it. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

I would say that the SVR can do 90% of what at 5.0L SC can do but the 5.0L SC can only do 50% of what the SVR can. Hope that makes sense! Jas Current RRS: MY18 SVR Previous RRS: MY15 RRS 5.0L Autobiography |

At motorway speeds is it almost silent like the SDV8 or SDV6 engined cars? Would you say it's as quiet as the SDV8 for example in general day to day use? Any input you can give would be great as owners are few and far between in the UK! There was too much "thrum" from the old SVR at cruise speeds which was mainly why I was put off by it, I appreciate that everyone is different though and wants different things from their cars. I just was never a fan of the RRS SVR. |

Thrum at motorway speed??? I haven't got that. I think you only need to look at sales to see since the SVR came out sales of the 5.0sc have been very low in fact nearly non existent. |
