Morning all, quick question if I may.

Car is fitted with 4 X 22" wheels, spare appears to be a 21" with different spoke pattern and according to main dealer should only be used in emergencies.

The actual diameter of the 22" and 21" are the same so can be fitted on the same axle according to my tyre centre.

Now I would have though that when you buy a new car, all the wheels including the spare would be the same size.

Anyone else come across this anomaly?

most come with a space saver and for "temporary use"
depends what was ordered new, did it have 22" fitted new or 21" with a Full size spare (same as mine)

I would only use different size Wheels (even if same diameter) as a temp use on 1 axle

Thanks for the reply, not sure what was ordered when new I'll endeavour to find out.

‘Normally” if JLR fits a space saver as OEM equipment it has the same rolling diameter as the wheels/tyres fitted for day to day use - achieved by using a smaller diameter wheel with a higher sidewall tyre. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

As said above,depends what was specced when it was new,mine has 22” spare same wheel as what was on car when I bought it.Its still on 22’s but 295’s instead of the 275’s.
