Phone connection problem

Just got my 2010 Sport....I moved up from a 2006...so nice upgrade of interior...Happy as Larry. However for the life of me I cannot get my Samsung 7 to connect to the car. A have engine started, switch Bluetooth on in my phone, do a scan for devices....but Land Rover doesn't appear. All that comes up is a MAC address and a message on the phone saying "Device name will appear when this device is connected". It's an Autobiography Sport so I'm assuming it has phone connectivity. On my 2006 the same phone connected with no problem, although had to type 2121 in each time. Can someone tell me if I'm missing something obvious here....Wouldn't be the first time for me.. I’m not an expert but having spent a while trying to connect phones to cars Try these suggestions:

Reset your phone by switching off and on.
Try connecting another phone to see if that works
Make sure all previous phones in the memory have been deleted - the system may be full.
Do a hard reset on the car. That is disconnect the battery, connect the battery leads together using a jump cable. NOT THE BATTERY TERMINALS. Leave for 20 mins or so then reconnect.

You know about 2121.

Good luck

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Hi Mad Dafty

I don't have any ideas except that when I had my 2010 V8 it connected really easily to an iPhone 7. Actually, the connection in the 2010 L320 was more stable and less prone to glitches than my current L494, once you get it up and running, it should be fine. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Have you tried connecting to the MAC address - the head unit I have on one of my other cars just displays the MAC and once selected it changes to Carkit in the Bluetooth list on my phone.

Might be worth a try
